About Me

My photo
I'm Trenny and my philosophy is rather simple-I believe there are only 2 forces in this world, Love or Fear. My goal is to try to see things through the eyes of love, but I am fallible and do not always succeed. My professional career at the moment is that of a fashion stylist in New York, but my interests are varied. This blog is the like a blog ‘magazine/newspaper/journal', where I’ve combined all the elements of things that I love to learn through those mediums myself. Some life journaling, lots of music. A little health, natural product talk and recipe sharing. Random musings on life experiences, a little style, art and humour. Environment issues too as nature is our greatest gift. I hope it teaches you something, makes you laugh, or gets you interested in something different. If it fires you up,I welcome learning all different points of view. I hope that what I share, including my mistakes, encourages you. *In the end, I believe we are all each other's teachers, so whatever you might be inspired to say/share with me through this blog- good and bad- I fully welcome it. I learn just as much from you. Happiness and Love xoxo TrennyLynn - trennylynn@gmail.com

The Beauty of Doing Fashion in NYC

I love what I do (even though I also have dreams of being in homeopathic healing--but that's a story for another day). One of the benefits of loving design, AND being blessed enough to do so in it's capital, New York City, is that I get to see first viewing of all the big collections before the general public does.
Here I am at last week's fashion week, checking out Gwen Stefani's edgy, girly, rock n roll Fall 2010 collection. What a love and an eye that girl has. You can check it out at www.lamb.com

If you live near a major city, keep tabs on all trade shows- they have ones on writing, travel, auto, fashion, cooking, humanitarian causes...so many things. You can buy a -usually inexpensive-daily pass and walk through and meet so many interesting people and discover so many companies and causes in fields you love. Just a fun life tip.

Take Your Mama Out - Scissor Sisters-Acoustic Cover

I took part of my snow day to play guitar and update myself on some of my favorites by some of my fav bands. Many times, I can watch an acoustic performance and gather up the fingering from the video. I happened upon this fun one by these three little cuties singing my favorite Scissor Sisters song-'Take Your Mama Out'.
Check out the original Scissor Sisters version also. It's a great, fun song. :)

No More Snow ...Please

We had a sexy, fun snow day, those can be fun. But who's with me? No more Lord......please!

This one statement can change your life if you get it....
"Stop making decisions from where you are and start making decisions from where you want to be.'

I WISH this was on these packages.

Please STOP giving them your hard earned money to make you fat and unhealthy! Eventually, they will have to close because of loss of profits. Don't you see how little they actually care about the health of the individual?

SOTD-Civil Twilight - Letters From The Sky

This is one of the reasons I still carry around a writing pad- to jot down something random incase I can't get to some 'device' to type it in. I was getting a smoothie in the airport, just seconds away from missing my plane last week, when I heard this song playing from the cafe's overhead speakers. I took my little straw sip and as I hurried by, I asked the girl behind the counter, "who is this playing?" and she told me it was a great band 'Civil Twilight'
Reminds me of a current U2- his voice has an early Bono quality to it. I also like the way the lead singer falls into a 'Thom Yorke Radiohead' falsetto throughout the song as well.

So, incase you don't know them, here they are- Civil Twilight- 'Letters From The Sky' Hope you enjoy. They are a great band and are sorely underrated. Spread the word.

Counting Crows - Round Here

man man man.....talk about a song I wish (lyrically) I would have written. I heard this song this morning as I was getting ready for work. And I was stricken, really stricken with what a great song this really is. Don't forget about it.
'Round Here'-Counting Crows. Bravo for this one
