About Me

My photo
I'm Trenny and my philosophy is rather simple-I believe there are only 2 forces in this world, Love or Fear. My goal is to try to see things through the eyes of love, but I am fallible and do not always succeed. My professional career at the moment is that of a fashion stylist in New York, but my interests are varied. This blog is the like a blog ‘magazine/newspaper/journal', where I’ve combined all the elements of things that I love to learn through those mediums myself. Some life journaling, lots of music. A little health, natural product talk and recipe sharing. Random musings on life experiences, a little style, art and humour. Environment issues too as nature is our greatest gift. I hope it teaches you something, makes you laugh, or gets you interested in something different. If it fires you up,I welcome learning all different points of view. I hope that what I share, including my mistakes, encourages you. *In the end, I believe we are all each other's teachers, so whatever you might be inspired to say/share with me through this blog- good and bad- I fully welcome it. I learn just as much from you. Happiness and Love xoxo TrennyLynn - trennylynn@gmail.com

SOTD- Love Sex Magic

The title alone.......awesome
but the video....
hhhoooottt!

But, wait a minute. I do have to give pause at the pornographic proportions of this video and junior high girls watching it. There sure is a fine line between art being provocative and censorship.

Sammy Pie

***Sammy, above, rocking it out Santa Con/Glam Rock/Roller Disco style!***

My friend Sam. She is one of the few friends I have that loves, just as much as I do:

1)Dressing up in 70's glam rock makeup 'just because'
2)Wearing a superhero/wonderwoman costume whenever the opportunity arises
3)Singing "Welcome to The Jungle" by Guns n Roses @ Karaoke over cliche picks like, 'New York' by Frank Sinatra or something serious by Mariah Carey
4) Dancing as ridiculously as possible in the middle of a work day just to make each other laugh
5) Roller Disco'ing' all night long
6) Celebrating the mundane on an average Tuesday, because life is too short

*We have some making up to do, she and I. But she is here and I adore her. Any of you that I know and love that don't know her, would love her too if you ever meet her.
We should all have a couple of friends in our lives as funky and fun and celebratory as some of the friends I have. It's good for the soul!

Special Olympics

I was a geek in High School. I got good grades and worked in the Principal's office first period. (I know, NERD-VILLE!)
Because of this, during my Junior year in High School, I was pulled out of 6th period study hall by the Special Education teacher, who said that the Vice Principal had recommended that I would be good as a teacher's assistant in the special education classroom. To me, it sure beat sitting in study hall, so I did it and liked it so much, that I continued doing it through my senior year.

I honestly think it was my propensity to relate to the underdog that made me so good at it. (Or, as I can hear my friend say "Uh, no Trenny, it's cuz 'it takes one to know one'!" lol)
Joking aside, doing this was actually one of my earliest memories of feeling the feeling you get when you can help someone else. We can sometimes be so self centered, especially when we are young, that it became a fantastic humbling experience for me. I actually considered, when I started college, of becoming a Special Education teacher. But, alas, as we know, I had bigger (more- ahem- self centered) desires in the fashion and music world.

Anyhow, I have made a decision. And, I have always wanted to do this. I am going to volunteer a day at The Special Olympics this year. I know it's not much, but it is something, right? That is, if they are held in NY. I don't mention this act to solicit responses of how nice this is. But, to urge you to give. To volunteer in some capacity, to something. Philanthropy, no matter how big or small, is so very important in many ways.
If you do, infact, want to do it for The Special Olympics, here is the site:

http://www.specialolympics.org/
*They have branches all over the country/world. So, see what you can do.

Oh- and here is the New York division:

Cindy Crawford. Uh- She's 44 people

Flipping through a fashion magazine and coming upon photos like these of women who are still super hot and sexy in their mid 40's, is so relieving and inspiring. Yes, I know she has 'money' for the little tricks like flying to Europe for Botox and who knows what else. But, we can still stay sexy as we age, as long as we do our best to take care of ourselves.
Whew- that body is pretty fine, no??

Dalai Lama

*From a blog I read this morning. Just nice.

From The Dalai Lama: Think As You Wake Up

“Every day, think as you wake up,

Today I am fortunate to have woken up,

I am alive, I have a precious human life,

I am not going to waste it,

I am going to use all my energies to develop myself,

To expand my heart out to others,

To achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings,

I am going to have kind thoughts towards others,

I am not going to get angry,

or think badly about others

I am going to benefit others as much as I can”
