" Boy, when you're dead, they really fix you up. I hope to hell when I do die somebody has sense enough to just dump me in the river or something."
~J.D. Salinger
If you haven't read it- just do so-'The Catcher In The Rye' A literary masterpiece in so far as a character portrayal in the book's main one, Holden Caulfield. The character's bitterness, self centeredness and anger and the folly and misfortune that he creates (all on his own quite comically) because of these things is quite spectacular. I have read few other books that quite capture young loathing as well as Salinger did here. A worthy read. But damn Salinger, you didn't have to pull the old isolation bitter deal because you write. Not all of us who are driven to create live everyday, to our own detriment, the human misery we can sometimes fictionalize. Well--you lived it a long time. 91 is a good run.
God Bless and thank you for your work.
**Franny and Zooey is really good as well.
