About Me

I'm Trenny and my philosophy is rather simple-I believe there are only 2 forces in this world, Love or Fear. My goal is to try to see things through the eyes of love, but I am fallible and do not always succeed. My professional career at the moment is that of a fashion stylist in New York, but my interests are varied. This blog is the like a blog ‘magazine/newspaper/journal', where I’ve combined all the elements of things that I love to learn through those mediums myself. Some life journaling, lots of music. A little health, natural product talk and recipe sharing. Random musings on life experiences, a little style, art and humour. Environment issues too as nature is our greatest gift. I hope it teaches you something, makes you laugh, or gets you interested in something different. If it fires you up,I welcome learning all different points of view. I hope that what I share, including my mistakes, encourages you. *In the end, I believe we are all each other's teachers, so whatever you might be inspired to say/share with me through this blog- good and bad- I fully welcome it. I learn just as much from you. Happiness and Love xoxo TrennyLynn - trennylynn@gmail.com

Don't Toss That Old Banana!

In the summer months, sometimes when it's really hot, you may feel lethargic at the end of the day. Some kind of quick protein always helps-- a protein bar, some chips and hummus or a simple banana. But what if that last lonely banana is just too 'not nice' to eat? (and they tend to go a little faster in the summer months) A lack of motivation and resources are sure as hell not going to have me blend a whole smoothie. But I find the below easy and quick in the summer with my too ripe bananas for a quick pick me up.
Just throw some ice, a little lowfat milk and the banana into the blender and zap! A treat that's not only full of protein (milk and banana) but freezing cold to chill you out. It's that perfect 'I'm a little hungry, but not for dinner yet' in between thing.
And another quick tip- instead of just buying a 'small bunch' at the grocery because that's all you know you'll eat, get a bigger bunch in the summer and take half of the bananas, slice them and store them in a ziploc freezer bag in the freezer. Then you'll have frozen banana chunks to do the above, or have them handy for a more elaborate smoothie, or frozen cocktail later. The frozen banana chunks get to tasting like thick ice cream when they are frozen--yum!!
