If you don't make time for exercise, or are in a crazy busy time of your life- work/kids, etc..- and just don't have time, try to at least take a 5 minute segment out of your day and stretch. Keep your muscles alive. Wake up your body. If there was only one thing you could do above all other exercises it would have to be some good stretching. (walking probably rates an equal)
If it's been awhile, try a few of the basic ones from gym class. For instance, the one where you sit flat on your bum, one leg out to the right and one to the left, and reach out to the tip toes with your hand on each side, and end in the middle with your arms and hands outstretched between your legs. You'll see very quickly just how much of your limber-ness you may have lost or, that you still have. Your body has good memory, so it won't be long until you gain that grace, length, and flexibility back.
And take some deep breathes while you're at it. A simple little thing can start making wonderful changes in your body.
Here's to happy limbs and a healthy body!
