From a science online journal I was reading last night:
As early as 1902, references to something similar to the law of attraction can be seen in a discussion of basic matter formation by John Ambrose Fleming, an electrical engineer. He said- "Every completed manifestation, of whatever kind and on whatever scale is an unquenchable energy of attraction that causes objects to steadily increase in power and definiteness of purpose, until the process of growth is completed and the matured form stands out as an accomplished fact." He went on to say that "thought no doubt precedes physical form and the action of mind, plants a nucleus of intention which, if allowed to grow undisturbed, will eventually attract to itself all the conditions necessary for its manifestation into visible form." He concluded by saying- "Therefore, there is no such thing as an unlucky or lucky break, or a more gifted person, that exist on it's own. There is either one who works hard and focuses on an intention that seizes moments, thoughts and ideas or one who does not use this focus."
