About Me

My photo
I'm Trenny and my philosophy is rather simple-I believe there are only 2 forces in this world, Love or Fear. My goal is to try to see things through the eyes of love, but I am fallible and do not always succeed. My professional career at the moment is that of a fashion stylist in New York, but my interests are varied. This blog is the like a blog ‘magazine/newspaper/journal', where I’ve combined all the elements of things that I love to learn through those mediums myself. Some life journaling, lots of music. A little health, natural product talk and recipe sharing. Random musings on life experiences, a little style, art and humour. Environment issues too as nature is our greatest gift. I hope it teaches you something, makes you laugh, or gets you interested in something different. If it fires you up,I welcome learning all different points of view. I hope that what I share, including my mistakes, encourages you. *In the end, I believe we are all each other's teachers, so whatever you might be inspired to say/share with me through this blog- good and bad- I fully welcome it. I learn just as much from you. Happiness and Love xoxo TrennyLynn - trennylynn@gmail.com

Top Gear

I'm not a big TV watcher, but don't get me wrong, I really do like watching a good movie or a good TV program. The reason why I don't do it more, are two fold. 1)There are not alot of 'good' ones out there, and 2)when the good ones are on, I may not be home. And, I'm not one to sit around just to catch a favorite show. So, thank goodness that my boyfriend has Tivo and introduced me to the awesome show "Top Gear".
Here's what I like in a show--I like to learn something (it can be super technical too, as long as it's interesting) , I like to laugh, I like seeing other parts of the world (why I've always prefered BBC News and Public TV -they acknowledge there is a world outside of the United States), I like some adventure and I love good wit and sarcasm. So, though any guy would assume the average girl might not like a show that is primarily about cars, I LOVE this show. It has all the above and literally packs so many funny, technical, interesting things into just one hour, that you feel quite satisfied after giving your cherished downtime to a program like it. I literally laughed my butt off beginning to end during an episode last week. OH- and being a big "Biography Channel' girl, they also have fun interviews with celebrities as well. Thankfully void of the same late night snore, cliche questions. They actually have genuine fun!
I always compare spending time watching a good show vs a bad show with this metaphor. It's like a meal. A crappy show is like fast food for your brain, you feel like crap after you watch them. A good show, is like a good meal. You feel full and satisfied and you are glad you spent your time and money (ie- brain energy) on the meal.
This is a good meal show!
Check it out on the BBC, Monday nights @ 9 pm.

Animal Rescue Donations

Hey! you wanna feel all warm and fuzzy like? Donate. I've suggested donating to a charity on my blog before, but usually for our fellow man. Yet, last night, the "Arms of The Angels" animal commercial they play on TV for the ASPCA finally got to me. If you live on Long Island you know the commercial I'm talking about. They play the Sarah McLaughlin song and show pictures of dog's and cat's sad, lonely eyes staring at the camera. Each time it comes on, sware to you, I turn the channel because it literally breaks my heart. Yet,last night I was at someone's house and didn't want to be rude and reach for the remote, so for the first time I sat through it. OUCH! It made me cry and I decided I wanted to switch my charity for awhile to animals. They don't have a voice, and they are just creatures of pure love that love you unconditionally and I feel we can help. As I always say, like 10 dollars a month is a tremendous help. That's a quarter tank of gas, but could help buy 2 cases of cat food. Anyhow, below are some on Long Island, NY, but you can go to www.peta.com to view all different shelters and rescues around the country and pick one that you like.
Just an idea!

Frozen Dildo...I Mean Banana on a Stick

Me to co-worker: "Hey I'm gonna make some of those frozen bananas on a stick, they look good. It's been so hot.

Co-worker: You know I got a better idea from a friend that you could cut them into bite size pieces and dip them and freeze them that way so they're like little 'Dibs" bite size and yummy. It's better than, I don't know..this thing, you know like coming at you, like....

Me: You mean it's better than looking like your eating a big fat dildo on a stick?

*Come on, someone had to say what we were all thinking.

Chapter 1.....

The writing has begun. Don't know-- just one day, without discipline and without prompting or fore thought, my fingers ached to hit the keyboard and start getting out what was in my head and my heart. all these years. I say Chapter One, but who knows? It could end up being the ending, or chapter 8 or cut, or the only bit I ever write, but I feel the flood is coming. Oh..let me keep a sleep schedule and not be haunted by what I must re-live to do this properly. Here goes.....

Saying Goodbye To Long Island Travel on the LIRR

My last couple of days on the LIRR, trying to get around Long Island, and I feel like LT Dan on the mast in the storm from Forrest Gump. Bring on your broken ac! Bring on your signal delays making me miss transfers! Put your fare hikes into effect THIS week in 100 degrees!
Go Ahead! ahhhhhhh-hhahahaa!! You don't scare me. ;)
Been nice knowing you Hicksville.

Happy Fourth Of July

A sprinkler of any kind is always the way to go above 90 degrees. But where was the idea of the sprinkler ball when I was little? Groovy little holes everywhere that blast you and spin around. Awesome! I sware I'm getting one of those adult slip and slides when I get a backyard. I did make a few runs thru the sprinkler today. My girlfriend meant it for watering her lawn, but one guy started the run thrus and you can't help but follow---sprinklers rock. You also can't help getting pelted when your not big enough girl foot tries to cover all the holes of water pressure on the sprinkler and you fail and get blasted in the face and a big hunk of mysterioso goes in your eye. Ouch! Why is that STILL so tempting???

Home- Sheryl Crow

I don't really know this song lyrically, it's not some sort of 'close to home' meaning that makes me post--it came on my shuffle today and I thought three things:
*What a pretty song
*There are few female musicians as talented as Sheryl Crow
*and...damn, I want to learn how to play piano.

Just wanted to share a pretty performance.
